A Calling to Help Build Families
Taylor’s surrogacy journey is a testament to the power of compassion and connection. A mother of four, Taylor felt a calling to help another family grow after completing her own in 2022. In this intimate Q&A, she shares her story, from the moment she knew surrogacy was her path to the unforgettable moments that defined her experience with Kindred Surrogacy.

What was the moment you knew surrogacy was the right path for you?
“I’ve been intrigued by the idea of surrogacy since having my first child in 2016,” Taylor shares. “My husband encouraged me to wait until we had completed our own family. After each of our children’s births, I revisited the conversation with him. After welcoming our fourth child in 2022, I felt certain our family was complete, yet I still had a strong desire to help another family expand theirs.” For Taylor, surrogacy wasn’t just an idea, it was a heartfelt mission to give the gift of parenthood.
How did your family or close friends react when you shared your decision to become a surrogate?
Sharing her decision with loved ones brought a mix of reactions. “When I told my parents, they were initially hesitant due to the potential risks, which is a natural concern,” Taylor explains. “However, our extended family and friends were incredibly supportive and eager to learn more about the process.” Their enthusiasm fueled her determination, showing how a supportive community can make all the difference.
What was your favorite part of the matching process with the intended parents?
The matching process was a highlight for Taylor. “My favorite part was reviewing the Intended Parents’ Profiles, especially reading their heartfelt letter,” she says. “It offered a glimpse into their lives and the journey that brought them here. They’re in such a vulnerable position, bravely opening up to a stranger to help build their family.” The connection she felt reading the letter from her matched Intended Parents made their first meeting feel like reuniting with old friends.

Can you share a memorable moment from your pregnancy that made you smile or feel connected to the baby or parents?
Taylor’s face lights up as she recalls, “During ultrasound appointments, I would FaceTime the Intended Parents, and their joy at seeing their baby on the screen was infectious. Their beaming smiles and excitement warmed my heart, reinforcing our connection.” These moments of shared joy underscored the profound bond formed through the surrogacy journey.
What was the biggest challenge you faced during the surrogacy journey, and how did Kindred support you through it?
While Taylor’s journey was smooth, she credits Kindred’s support for making it seamless. “I didn’t encounter any major challenges, but the Kindred staff were exceptional,” she says. “They coordinated all necessary blood work, ensured reimbursements were processed promptly, and consistently checked in on my health.” This level of care made her feel valued and supported every step of the way.
How did you feel when you met the intended parents for the first time after delivery?
The moment of delivery was emotional. “Although we had met before, seeing the Intended Mother holding her precious newborn for the first time after the delivery was deeply moving,” Taylor reflects. “The birth hadn’t gone as planned, but witnessing that moment confirmed why I chose this path.” It was a powerful reminder of the impact of her selfless act.
How has being a surrogate changed the way you view family or community?
Surrogacy reshaped Taylor’s perspective. “As a parent, I was immersed in my own world, focused on raising my children,” she admits. “Through surrogacy, I’ve gained a deep appreciation for the resilience of Intended Parents and others facing infertility. This experience opened my eyes to the diverse paths to parenthood and the strength found in communal support.” Her journey deepened her empathy and sense of connection to others.
What role did Kindred’s team play in making your journey feel personal or unique?
Kindred’s personalized approach stood out. “The Kindred staff made everything feel so personal,” Taylor says. “From regular check-ins to coordinating logistics with care, they ensured I felt supported and valued.” This tailored support made her journey not just a process, but a deeply meaningful experience.
If you could go back and talk to yourself before starting this journey, what would you say?
Reflecting on her experience, Taylor offers heartfelt advice to her past self: “Soak up every second of it - it flies by faster than you expect. Pour your heart into it, because what you give is what you’ll carry with you. Snap all the photos, treasure every memory, because this chapter is now part of who you are, and you should be damn proud of that.”
What’s a small detail from your journey that you’ll always remember?
One moment stands out vividly for Taylor. “I’ll never forget meeting my Intended Parents for the first time, just weeks before the birth,” she says. “They walked into the doctor’s office, and it instantly felt like we’d known each other forever. Despite the physical distance, the bond we built over the past year was so strong because we both committed to nurturing trust and connection.”
